About us

History

enlarged picture
efco creative GmbH is an innovative family business with a long tradition.

1974 founded in a residential house by Inge and Lutz Erler in Vaihingen/Enz-Aurich. Due to constant growth and despite many expansions, the space at this location became too limited.

1984 Lutz Erler and Klaus Ruhmann took over EFCO, which had been in existence since 1964, and integrated it into the group as a production company.

1994 the move to the current location in Rohrbach/Pfalz was realised in a 3000 m² hall. At this time, the children Pia and Martin Erler also joined the company to support their parents in this project.

1995 the first main catalogue with all the products in the range was published. Previously, only individual product flyers and price lists had been available.

1996 a further extension with an area of approx. 1500 m² became necessary in order to be able to offer our customers a complete range.

2001 France became the first foreign-language country to be actively worked on and a catalogue was created for this country. This was followed in 2004 by the expansion to the English and Italian markets.

2003 hobbygross Erler GmbH took over the Uhlig brand and further expanded and profitably established the furnace construction business.

2004 further 8,000 m² of land was acquired and a building of approx. 2,000 m² was erected on top for incoming goods, pre-storage and assembly.

2006 the concentration of stove construction for the Uhlig and EFCO brands was established in Rohrbach and the site in Laudert was concluded

2015 the companies hobbygross Erler GmbH and Efco Produkte GmbH merged to efco creative GmbH. The company name was adapted to the efco creative brand.

2023 unexpectedly Managing Director and owner, Martin Erler, passed away. In the same year, Horst Herrel takes over the management of the company.

2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the company and 30 years of the Rohrbach site.
